When working on websites for clients (or even myself) you would think pictures would be the easiest part but sometimes it can actually be the hardest! Often times this delays the website because clients are trying to find photos to use that represent what they do. Depending on the type of business you have here are some of the most important images you want to have on your website:

No. 1 Self-Portrait – Sometimes we have great photos of our work but none of ourself! (I’m super guilty of this and need an updated one ASAP haha). You want your clients or potential clients to know who they’ll be working with. Also, if you have a team provide a picture of each them member.

No. 2 Portfolio- This one you might be reading and are like “duh Ashlynn” but it’s important to note that you want to showcase your work in an appealing way! On my website you will see a lot of mock-ups because I feel like this showcases my work best. You want high-quality photos that are going to capture peoples attention. For example, if you design product packaging, you don’t want to just post a photo the artwork of a bottle label… you want to show how the finished product looks on a bottle.

No. 3 Process/Behind the Scenes – You want to show how you work and what customers can expect from you. Maybe you are a photographer and want to showcase how you help client’s pick out their outfits, style a shoot and the ordering process. It gives people a clear expectation of what they are going to get when working with you
